Ten years after the Iraq war, the country was still devastated, including suffering from massive health effects of the depleted uranium ammunition used by NATO forces. Sanctions were still in place.
This initiative came from British MP George Galloway. A pro-Iraq convoy, led by an old London Routemaster bus playing songs like “give peace a chance” finally crossed from Amman into Baghdad, the climax of a two-month campaign to muster support for the lifting of U.N. sanctions.
A documentary of the trip, long thought lost, has surfaced and been digitally remastered. We recommend the video highly, it showed the people of Iraq that their suffering was seen and felt.
It is sad to know that the UK are sending depleted uranium ammunition to Ukraine. This will harm people and environment for generations to come.
The documentary was aired on the MOATS Youtube channel, and comes after a short introduction by George Galloway himself.
