We wouldn’t be writing this newsletter if peace were not a thing. We know it is. But are we giving this thing called peace enough space? What do we spend our time doing? Most human activity is within the framework of business - that is to say activity performed under the auspices of an organisation, with an official organisation number, tax number and often licences and stakeholders. In other words, we work.
It seems to us that in all that flurry of business activity, peace is missing. It shouldn’t be. If the business of life is peace, and we believe it is, then the business of business is peace.
This newsletter is not going to tell you how to run your business - we are not qualified to do that. What we are going to tell you is about what we have learned over the years. Both of the authors started to pursue peace in the 70s. We never stopped. But we both had careers in business.
What we know after our careers in business and at the same time working with peace, it is time to let peace in. We are going to offer up the simple suggestion that if you find peace in yourself, and let that guide you, and practice peace in your professional and personal life, and others do the same, you will open the door to peace. Peace is a thing, but more than that, it is amazing. It works just fine.
There is a lot wrong with the world, there will always be. So instead of trying to put everything right, you can just aim for peace. Peace gives you the best possible beacon to follow. If you can find peace, if you can manifest that in the world, if others do the same, things might just start to feel perfect.
This newsletter gathers all we know about how to do that, starting with yourself, and going on to highlight amazing things that we have seen happen when the practice of peace starts to become - well - practical. We have a lot of ideas about how we humans can change direction. We call it the pivot. The change from how we have, perhaps unconsciously, set things up for non-peace, to setting things up for peace.
We may always never quite get it right, but by focussing on making it right we can open up to having lives that are wonderful beyond our imaginations. Lives in peace. Because peace is a thing, our thing; that is who we are. Time to let it work. Time to be who we are.
